Pageant Information
The United States Earth Pageants are designed to recognize and encourage excellence among the outstanding young woman throughout our nation.

During the national pageant, delegates will participate in numerous public appearances, environmental and motivational seminars, specially planned events, rehearsals and fun!
Some events are designed to welcome family and friends participation, so that they too, can experience the difference.

While a performing talent is not required, we offer an opportunity to showcase them, during the optional talent competition.  The winner is awarded the title of United States Miss Talent along with a cash award and performs her talent, whether it be singing or dancing during the coronation pageant.

Unique to the Miss Earth Organization, in addition to awarding the titles of Miss Earth United States & Miss Teen Earth United States, three element titles will also be awarded.
Each of the element titles carry equal weight and should not be considered runner-ups.

Should Miss Earth United States be unable to fulfill her duties, any one of the element titleholders will be asked to step in and fulfill the duties.

Element titleholders are United States Miss/Teen Air, Water and Fire, symbolic of Mother Earth.
National delegates will be fairly and accurately judged in five separate phases of competition.

Confidence in Interview
Environmental Awareness
Personality in Swimsuit
Elegance in Evening Gown
Overall Impression

Judges will use an Olympic style scoring system, awarding points from 1.0 to 10.0 including half points (example 7.5) . The highest and lowest score from the collective panel will be discarded and the remaining points will be added. The delegate with the highest number of overall points will become Miss Earth United States or Miss Teen Earth United States 2010.

Confidence in Interview:  Miss Earth United States and Miss Teen Earth United States MUST be likable, personable, approachable, charming and a confident effective communicator in a wide variety of scenario's.  The national delegates will be given several opportunities to meet with the judges in order to achieve this goal.  They will converse with the judges in  "meet & greet" setting, enjoy a special meal with the entire panel of judges and participate in a timed panel style interview.  Each segment is designed to provide every delegate with an opportunity to make a positive impression on our judges and to test her communication skills.  Delegates are not judged on their personal opinions or beliefs.

Environmental Awareness:
During a special presentation show, each delegate will be interviewed on her environmental awareness and how this crisis affects her own community, with emphasis on her ability to convey her passion, thoughts and ideas.

Personality in Swimsuit:  Emphasis is not on being the thinnest or having a six-pack abdomen.  Delegates are judged on having an attractive, healthy and feminine figure for her body type.  Delegates are provided swimsuits and can either be a one piece or two-piece style of her own choosing.  Confidence, stage presence and personality are also considered.

Elegance in Evening Gown:
During the most glamorous portion of the pageant, the delegates are judged on their personal style, flair for fashion and overall beauty.  Elegance, carriage, poise and stage presence are also factored into her overall score.  The judges will also considered the appropriateness of the gown, but NOT the cost of the gown.

Overall Impression:
Judges are required to score each event separate and apart from the others and not to let one round of competition influence the score of another.  The overall impression category provides our judges with an opportunity to take into account her overall presentation without specific emphasis on any one particular event.
