We are honored to have Jana Murrell and Sarah Fitzgerald serve as Miss Earth/Teen Earth United States for 2008. On October 14th, 2008 Jana Murrell-Miss Earth United States 2008 will depart for Manila, Philippines to participate in the 2008 Miss Earth Pageant. Jana will compete with environmentally aware and conscience beauties from over 90 expected countries. During her month long trip, we will continue to post information on her journey and quest to the Miss Earth title. We wish Jana a safe trip in which she will make memories to last a lifetime.
Jana arrived safely in Manila and has begun the pre-pageant promotional events leading up to the coronation of Miss Earth 2008. Upon arriving in Manila, Jana was taken to Carousel Mansion with some of the early arrivals. Jana was greeted with warm smiles and invited to join the Karaoke singing into the wee hours of the morning. On Saturday 10/18, there was several photo shots, fittings and preparation for the fashion show, which was scheduled for the next day. In addition, Jana was interviewed by local press and spent the day getting to know her fellow pageant sister.
Jana revealed that her national costume is a replica of the Statue of Liberty, an iconic symbol of the USA. During the long gown competition, Jana will proudly wear a Jonathan Kayne Original and strongly believes that everyone can play their part in protecting and preserving Mother Earth by recycling.
Jana's time spent in the Philippines has been rewarding, uplifting and life changing. She has enjoy the many beauties of the Philippines as well as her fellow Miss Earth candidates. She was selected to appear on several Filipino television shows, many public media appearances and fashion shows. She has participated in beach clean-ups and tree planting events as well as island hopping to many of the beautiful 701 islands that make up the Philippines.
in addition to her official photo shoots, she was presented to the press and media covering the international event on October 26th. She also officially presented her national costume to the world. She has made numerous lasting friendships and continues to create once in a life time memories. We are proud of her as she continues to represent all of us with the grace, dignity and class befitting Miss Earth United States!
New Update 11-13: On November 9th, 2008 Jana Murrell Miss Earth United States heard her name announced as a semifinalist at the international Miss Earth pageant held in the Philippines. Jana spent several weeks traveling throughout the Philippine countryside, experiences the Philippine culture, the people and the natural wonders. Her excellent communication skills were highlighted during numerous television and media interviews. She gained valuable and rewarding knowledge on how she can continue to become even more "greener" and encourage others to do so, no matter how small. She made lasting friendship and represented the United States with the class, dignity and character befitting our queens. in the coming weeks, we will publish her diary that she kept while being part of the 2008 Miss Earth pageant.
We are excited and pleased to announce that Park Avenue Pageants out of Oklahoma has joined our pageant family and will be conducting an official preliminary to the 2009 United States Earth pageants. Candidates living in the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma qualify to participate in the Miss/Teen Earth South-Central US pageant and earn an all-expense paid trip to the national pageant.
